Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information Nico Tek Solutions (“we,” “us”) collects on nico-tek.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What We Collect
- Contact & inquiry data — name, email, phone, business name, and project details you submit through consultation, retainer, or contact forms.
- Account data — if you create an account, your name, email, and optional phone number, stored in Amazon Cognito (AWS). Passwords are hashed by Cognito; we never see them.
- Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and never touches our servers. We receive only transaction metadata (amount, status, last four digits, billing country/ZIP for tax calculation).
- Usage data — we use Google Analytics to understand site traffic (pages visited, approximate location, device type). Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you to us personally.
- Technical data — standard server and CDN logs (IP address, user agent, request time) kept for security and debugging.
How We Use It
- To respond to inquiries and deliver services you purchase.
- To process payments, calculate applicable taxes, and send receipts.
- To send service-related email (confirmations, receipts, project updates). We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing email without your consent.
- To secure, debug, and improve the site.
Who We Share It With
Only service providers needed to run the business, under their own privacy terms:
- Stripe — payment processing and tax calculation.
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, email delivery (SES), and account authentication (Cognito).
- Google — analytics.
- Mapbox — the interactive map on our homepage requests tiles from Mapbox, which receives your IP address as part of serving them.
We disclose information if required by law. We never sell personal information.
Cookies & Local Storage
- Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors.
- We use browser local storage for preferences such as your chosen site theme — this never leaves your browser.
- Stripe sets cookies during checkout for fraud prevention.
You can block cookies in your browser; the site works without them, though analytics will not count your visit.
Retention
We keep inquiry and project records for as long as needed to serve you and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Transaction records are retained per IRS requirements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Your Choices
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data (subject to records we must keep by law).
- Opt out of analytics with a browser setting or extension such as Google’s opt-out add-on.

Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
